A Rose In Safe Haven was named after a beautiful, loving woman who needed a safe place. Rosalie “Rose” Potts was placed at the last institution to close in Maryland, The Rosewood Institute (Center). Before and after her placement at Rosewood, she was physically, mentally, emotionally, and sexually abused. Despite her intellectual and developmental disabilities, Rose cherished her independence and loved to work. She was employed by Chick-Fil-A in Glen Burnie, MD for 16 years.. A couple of her Chick-Fil-A co-workers came to her defense by reporting physical abuse from her previous caregiver. Rose needed a safe place. This is when she met Michele Shipley-Pindell and remained under Michele's care until her battle against ovarian cancer came to an end when she received the ultimate healing and went home to be with the Lord. While Rose was with Michele Shipley-Pindell, she became more independent and began to heal her past trauma. She wanted to travel so, she and Michele drove across the country from Maryland to Seattle Washington, They flew to Hawaii, took a cruise to the Bahamas, and took many other trips together. As Rose became more independent, she learned to speak up for herself. In early 2023, she made the decision to leave her previous DDA services and try Self-Directed Services where she could have more control over choosing her own staff and setting her own path. Rose was a courageous, intelligent, strong, loving, and creative person. Rose is the backbone of A Rose In Safe Haven. The acronym A.R.I.S.H. represents the people we will serve; brave soldiers, intelligent, wise, and working to build something great for themselves and within. A Rose In Safe Haven will make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve just as Rose would have wanted.
A ROSE IN SAFE HAVEN, LLC., will offer seniors with disabilities age 55 and older compassionate care in the comfort of their own home or provide board and care under A.R.I.S.H. LLC.
Matthew 6:9-13 “Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, and ever In Jesus name AMEN!
