Hello, my name is Michele Shipley-Pindell, I am the founder of A ROSE IN SAFE HAVEN. I am a Certified Nurse Assistant, Medication Technician, a Support Broker for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and trained in CPR/First Aid (AED). At a very young age my heart was filled with passion to care for others. I was very honored to meet Rose, she became my friend. She became my Big Sister (Family). When Rose passed away, GOD pressed upon my heart to continue providing the refuge that she found with me. Providing a safe shelter for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities or impairments.
I have worked with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 2013. My vocation is caring for adults with disabilities, and this is not just a job to me this is my Passion, my calling. I started in the medical field as a caregiver for the older adult population in 2007, which derived from becoming my mom’s primary caregiver in 1997. I was an overnight shift supervisor of 3/4 employees for 6-8 residents at a residential medical facility in Walnut Cove, NC. I obtained my associate degree at Baltimore City Community College. I majored in psychology at Bowie State University and have a Bachelor of Science degree. I am a member of Psi Beta and Psi Chi (Honor Society In Psychology) and a member of the OES (Order of the Eastern Star) Electa Chapter #1. I am a mother, a foster mother, and a grandmother. I enjoy what I do. I answered my calling and said YES to GOD use me to serve others.
